Tip 6

Be honest.  Truthfulness will help your perspective lawyer help you.  Honesty is easy if you need a legal service unrelated to a lawsuit.  Emotion can sometimes get in the way and encourage exaggeration if you are suing someone else.  Do your best to be honest and accurate.

  1. These are all very good tips on finding a good lawyer. The most important one for me is honesty. I need to make sure I know exactly what is happening if I have to get the law involved. I just moved to the Sarnia Ontario area and am looking for a lawyer. I don't need one at the moment but I like to always have one on hand.

  7. Sheryl, I completely agree that being open will be the best option for you. Honesty is key to creating a good relationship with your prospective lawyer. Honesty can also make the court process easier in most cases.
