Tip 2

Determine if the lawyer knows about the law specific to your needs.  The law is complicated.  It would be impossible to be an expert in every area of the law.  Most lawyers specialize in a specific area like criminal, civil, real estate, or wills and trusts - you get the idea.  Make sure the lawyer you are considering specializes in the area of law most relevant to your business needs.  Do not be afraid to ask hard questions of the attorney before you make a decision.  Ask for examples of similar cases to be sure the lawyer has experience and will not be using your hard earned money to learn on the job.

  1. This tip is very on point. A lawyer should always have experience in the case he/she is working. If that lawyer even has any small doubts, find a new one. You want the very best you can get for your case. http://www.kmrslaw.com/practice-areas/personal-injury/auto-accidents/

  2. That is so true, and I don't think many people take this into consideration of finding a lawyer that is specific to their needs. It's true when you say the experience goes a long way with what you're willing to pay. Winning a case can get you much more than what you're paying anyway, so it makes sense to pay for quality. Thanks for this article!

  3. This is a really important aspect of hiring your lawyer. It is important to admit that not everyone is perfect in there profession. There are doctors out there that don't know all the diseases and symptoms. I am trying to look for a lawyer that knows all about employment termination in my state. Looking around and taking your time choosing an attorney is of utmost importance.

  8. Sheryl, I agree that it is important to find a lawyer that specializes in your case type. A bankruptcy lawyer isn't going to have the same knowledge about personal injury claims as a personal injury lawyer would. Because of this, you should make sure you find out what each potential lawyer specializes in, and narrow down the field from there. http://www.hilbornandkonduros.ca/about-us/
